The Wedding Fete

Im getting ready to take part in the Wedding Fete event in Didsbury tomorrow.

Here's what the organisers have to say about it:

The North West’s finest gather at The Wedding Fete

The Wedding Fete, which brings together the north-west’s finest wedding industry talents, is taking place on Sunday 29th Parsonage, on Stenner Lane in Didsbury.

Open to the public from 11am to 4pm, this relaxed and friendly event will inspire visitors, making it the perfect choice for couples wanting the highest quality and service from local independent businesses.

Following the huge success of the first Wedding Fete in April, the region’s leading wedding industry suppliers will once again be on hand to offer advice and expertise to couples.

Award winning bridal boutique The White Closet will treat brides to their stunning collection of gowns from UK leading designers, including Jenny Packham, Charlotte Balbier and Claire Pettibone, as well as Twobirds bridesmaids dresses, shoes and a selection of veils and handmade accessories.

Lynette Page Make Up will be launching her eagerly-awaited own label make-up range at The Wedding Fete, as well as offering free make up trials on the day; The Flower Lounge will have inspirational floral ideas and help for choosing the perfect bouquet and displays for your wedding; The dynamic duo at Dotmoxee Photography will be on hand to answer your wedding photography dilemmas and Black Ribbon Designs will have their pretty handmade wedding hangers and stunning stationery on display.

Guests can sample the sensational wedding cakes from The Cheshire Cat Cake Company and alternative cake ideas from Didsbury favourites The Cheese Hamlet; Cupids Treasure will add a timeless elegance with their creative headdress designs and Harriet and Dee will have gift ideas in abundance, from memory boxes to jewellery for attendants.

Pebble in the Pond will help to set the scene of The Wedding Fete with their handmade decorations and details, including vintage styling and an array of products to hire; Didsbury’s Urban Angels will be showing how to create perfect wedding hair styles; and quirky handmade felt wedding dolls by Pepper Pot Handcrafted will be available to order and personalise for your special day.

If you’re planning a vintage party, Love in a Teacup has some wonderful crockery for hire; Silvie Designs will be showcasing their bespoke stationery; and the fete will see the unveiling of a converted chauffeur driven VW camper van named Bruce from Great White Occasions, which could be the perfect mode of transport for your wedding!

The Wedding Fete wouldn’t be complete without The Mighty Boof an instant photobooth with plenty of props to add to the fun of your day and, ahead of his first album launch, popular Irish singer songwriter Nicky McCallan will be playing a live acoustic set throughout the day.

Competitions will be running throughout the day with the opportunity to win prizes for your wedding including a luxury hamper from The Cheese Hamlet.

In addition, The Wedding Fete will be packed with a whole host of other wedding industry specialists, to help plan your wedding. Guests will be treated to a luxury goody bag* including free Molton Brown treatments, as well as discounts and offers from the exhibitors.

Ailish McDonnell, organiser of The Wedding Fete says, “We are delighted to once again bring the finest wedding experts from across Manchester and the North West to the beautiful Old Parsonage in Didsbury village. The Wedding Fete stands out against the run-of-the-mill wedding fairs, showcasing the very best in what the wedding industry has to offer without having to travel far and wide.

“Everyone involved in The Wedding Fete shares a similar thinking, working hard to deliver the best, with their reputation making them stand out from the crowd.

“As a wedding planner, I understand a wedding is the biggest and most important day for many, and it’s crucial that money is spent on products and services that can be relied on.

“The Old Parsonage is a beautiful wedding and reception which remains open thanks to the community and funding of The Parsonage Trust.

“A minimum £1 donation will go to The Parsonage Trust and the upkeep of the Old Parsonage and its stunning gardens.”
